Homophobic & Racist Bullying

Homophobic Bullying is when someone that is gay or bisexual gets bullied by there choices. I hate when i see this happen because it is that persons choice on what they like and they should not be judged. A victim of this kind of bullying often gets very embarrassed by the things that the bully is saying to them and then will try and think twice about there decisions.

Racist bullying is bullying towards ones race, culture or group. Bullies will often choose to pick on a person that is different because they supposedly have many things to pick on them for. SOme things they will pick on them for is the way they look (eyes) or if they are a different color.

Both of these types of bullying also lead to all the bad consequences like every other type of bullying will. Most kids will be very hurt when they are different and they get called names and are constantly picked on for something they are born with.

Different types of Bullying

Bullies have many different ways to bully people. A very common way people are bullying others now is cyber bullying. Cyber bullying happens with a lot of teens now.

Cyber Bullying is when a person is threatened, harassed or embarrassed by a bully using technology. What they mean when they are saying "technology" are things such as the internet, cell phones (texting), instant messaging and muchh more.

When people are cyber bullied there are often veryyyyy bad situations that follow. A lot of people will end up with suicide or some people even end up with a therapist for the rest of their lives. Once someone is cyber bullied, they never forget it and the situations will follow them throughout there whole entire lives. Many victims will have horrible nightmares about their past situations and will even not want to sleep alone in their room. As well as not wanting to sleep alone, they will just not want to be alone at all such as in school or even at home.

If you ever see cyber bullying going on, try and stop it when you can. You will know right away if you see someone being cyber bullied because of the affects on what is happening to that person or even what the bully is saying. Foul language is a sign as well as finding ways to embarass the person.

Signs of teen being bullied. (for parents and friends)

If you are wondering about your child being bullied there are certain signs to look for...

  • Start to not have anything to do. They may not be hanging out with other teens and just sit around.
  • If the person has some cuts or bruises that are on there body and they are trying to hide them.
  • Grades start to fall and they come home and do not do there homework.
  • When they come home they may look very sad or upset.
  • Complaining about pains in their bodies such as headaches or stomach aches.

If you are thinking that your friend may be getting bullied you can look for these signs...

  • They cut down on there eating habits and are getting less portions of meals.
  • They aren't coming to school as much or are leaving early.
  • Lack self-esteem.
  • Stop riding the bus, don't stop at there locker or avoid going to lunch.
  • Has cuts or bruises on there body that they are trying to cover up and hide them.

Getting help when Bullied (Teens & Kids)

There are several things teens can do to resolve bullying.
  • IGNORE: A lot of teens will try to just ignore the bully and walk away. If they do this, the bully gets very mad and will try and target them way more then usual. Once you keep ignoring the bully they will realize you don't care too much about this and they will eventually give up and move onto another victim.
  • HOLD IN EMOTIONS: When teens are getting bullied they get very angry and just want to let it all out. If you hold in your anger things may get better. Try and keep your anger in by writing down your emotions then maybe rip and shread it to pieces to get out your anger.
  • TALK ABOUT IT: People talking to another person about there problems sometimes makes things easier. When teens are talking to other people about there situations will make them feel better because they are not just holding it in, they are letting it out to another person who cares.

When younger kids are getting bullied they cannot actually do quite as much as a teen can. Kids usually do not want to tell anyone when they are getting bullied because they get embarrassed and think that people might think different about this person because someone is picking on them for something about themselves. If a kid is going to tell anyone about the situation, they will usually go to there parents first. A kid should always go to any adult when they are being bullied instead of going to a friend like teens may do.

Teens being bullied..

There is a large amount of people being bullies, or bullying others everyday. In the United States about thirty percent of people deal with bullying throughout the year. So, about 5.7 million people are either bullies, get bullied or are both of these in the United States. Statistics say that from grades 6-10, eleven percent of the people are being bullied, and six percent said that they were bullied and as a result, they bully others. Grades 6-10 are the most ages for people to be bullied because once you get older people will stop being bullies or be bullied. Boys are usually the big bullies in school rather then girls. When boys are being bullied it is usually a more violent situation. When girls are being bullied it is more likely to be a rumor about them or tell other girls to stop talking to that certain person. If there is a girl bully, they will often target on other girls while boys target both boys and girls.

Teens that are being bullied soon begin to feel horrible about thereself for whatever the situation may be. Teens being bullied will also get very depressed and insecure about themselves. They will usually be very afraid of what others think and they will be afraid of the bully each day going to school. Bullying will affect people in school. This may affect them in school because they will often be very scared and start to loose concentration. If they are being bullied so bad it will sometimes lead them into skipping school to get away from the problem. In some long term consequences of bullying, people will commit suicide which is definitely the most horrible effect of bullying. Some teens will get into bad things such as shoplifting, drugs or alcohol use. They may get into some of these stages because they do not want to deal with all the troubles they are getting anymore so they decide to do something new.

What is Bullying?

Bullying is scaring or controlling another person by using threats or physical force. Not all people know exactally what bullying is. There are many different forms of bullying and people sometimes don't understand that. If you're getting bullied, you will know it right away. Bullying is not something that you can just walk away from. There are not certain people that get bullied, its people of all races, shapes and sizes. When a person is being bullied they are usually picked on by one intimidating person or a big group of people. People may get bullied by being physically or socially harassed. Being hit, punched, being tripped or many other abusive things are physical bullying. Some people being bullied may not be hit or anything but they may have rumors being spread about them or they just have people constantly irritating them.
